About Me

My photo
I am friendly, somewhat outgoing, and opinionated. If you do something that makes you look like an idiot I'm not afraid to tell you or laugh at you. In that respect feel free to laugh at me or tell me when I look like an idiot. ;P

Been a while...

I feel as though time has passed in an instant.  I believe it was a year ago this month that I started this Blog and then got way to distracted to maintain it.  So much has happened I just don't know where to begin.  My parents divorced, Mom moved in, my oldest started 1st grade and my baby finished up his last year of preschool.

I think I will start back in July 2009 and work my way to the present.

Fall 2009- My mother moves in

I'm not going to lie and say I was excited but, I wasn't dreading it either.  My mom and I always had a good relationship.  As a teenager I was perfectly happy to hang out with my parents at the local bowling alley and chill with the "old fogies".  She and my father had divorced after 40 years of marriage.  Crazy eh?  By the time 40 years go by, one might think everything was peachy and they would sit in matching rocking chairs and chat while watching the sunset.  NOT!  At least not in my family.  Her coming here was a bit of a disruption but, I thought we could all at least handle it for 3-6 months.  Well, here we are 1 year later and nothing has changed other than my mom started Nursing school.   Long story short...  The boys are still sharing the top bunk bed, I am grumpy and stressed out most of the time, and Josh is tolerating well as usual.  I JUST WANT OUR LIVES BACK! The sooner the better too. Pardon my rant, but, I feel a little better now LOL!

Anyone have a Mother/Mother -In-Law story they'd like to share...?

San Francisco Marathon July 26, 2009

I guess I forgot to post this one also... Man am I slackin' or what! ;P
========================================
Long, long ago in a city far away there was this race and it was a nice race set on the edge of the sea. The day was cool and crisp with the sun just starting to break over the horizon. There was a whistle and a girl ran. She ran and ran and ran. The girl was feeling awake envigorated and energetic, she could feel it already, today was going to be a good day.

Well, that girl was me and I was right. It was a good day. It was a beautiful day to run a beautiful and scenic course across the golden gate bridge and back. I set out to enjoy myself and come in before the cut-off time of 3 hours. I not only thuroughly enjoyed myself and beat the cut-off but, I came in 1HOUR before the cut-off! Yay for me!

I'm not going to sugar coat it and say, "oh it was a piece of cake". It was anything but a piece of cake that's for sure. However, the weather was perfect, the scenery was beautiful and the course was well supported and organized. I especially ejoyed the little trivia posters scattered along the way. I was so absorbed in the trivia questions, that I barely noticed the hills I was climbing. Then, on the "flat" portions I was enthralled with watching the sea roll on by. I can honestly say, this is the first race that I enjoyed running so much that i lost track of time and was finished before I knew it. I highly recommend this race to anyone. One of the highlights for me was completing the California Dreamin' Series in Golden Gate Park. My 2 cents... 2 thumbs up! I can't recall anything to bitch about with this one. ;)

Paws for Cause 5K in Fountain Valley, CA August 2, 2009

This post is a little late but, I guess I forgot to publish it.

Paws for Cause 5K... What can I say... Definitely would recommend especially if you have a dog, want one, or just love em. It was a fun, fast, easy course and the proceeds were for a good cause.
